Many of you have attended the Get Out Expo these past 5 years. The newly-minted Eagle Outside Festival debuts Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12. This year’s event brings a new name and lots of new activities and we hope you’ll join us!

If you’re a mountain biker or a trail-runner you already know that Eagle is one of Colorado’s deliciously dirty little secrets. The trails (a gajillion of them at last count) all leave from town, get thoroughly BRAAP-tastic, and then finish close to a friendly barista, a sparkling row of taps and a wide variety of dining options for hungry cyclists and runners.

We’ve got a nice little trail-centric party cooking and you’re invited. So pop into the inaugural Firebird 40 or Firebird la Femme. Run up a nice caloric deficit courtesy the Mother-of-a-Half 1/2 Marathon. Get your groove on via the StreetSwell Aquila longboard 10K, or demo a dream bike from industry leading brands such as Santa Cruz, Niner, Pivot, Specialized, Ibis, BMC, Felt, Twenty2 Cycles, Ellsworth, KHS, Intense and many, many more.

There are organized group rides on dirt and pavement, a timed skills course courtesy of the Hardscrabble Trail Coalition and Mountain Pedaler, and great live music throughout the weekend. Visit the schedule page for a complete look at all the weekend has to offer.

There’s also a great late addition to the festivities; world-renowned skier, cyclist and all-around athlete Allison Gannett will be hosting her incredibly popular “Rippin’ Chix Mountain Bike Skills Camp” along with Specialized Bicycles. This three hour mountain bike camp is for those wishing to build confidence and skills in a comfortable and supportive environment. Alison teaches with her special baby-step progression method, that enables faster learning with less fear. While the expo is free, Allison’s camps are $50 per person and space is limited.
